i love the middle look. i generally like black these days, not because it is safe or says "gallerist", but because i like the contrast with the landscape out west. when i lived in berlin or even detroit, i preferred mixing and matching color and pattern like the fluorescent graffiti stands out from the decaying, drab ruins. the intensity was not repulsive like it can be out here in the sun and oodles of other funky, retro, new-rave wearing peoples. maybe the key here is taking it to extreme and accesorizing...maybe i will give it a try soon before the hotter-hot months come and i go back to my sweatpants and tank-tops.
